5th Annual WineRival Returns to Venue West on 10/15 for the Ultimate Wine Extravaganza: The Tailgate Tasting Presented by PENFOLDS

A WineRival Champion will be Crowned & percentage of the proceeds donated to The Balance Project

Chicago, Ill. — Get ready for an unparalleled experience as WineRival proudly presents "The Superbowl of Wine" — The Tailgate Tasting at Venue West (221 North Paulina Street Chicago) on Sunday, October 15, from 5pm - 9:30pm. This event promises to be a true celebration of all things wine, where hundreds of enthusiasts will gather to enjoy exquisite wines and delectable bites, and witness a thrilling blind wine-tasting competition, for just $75.

WineRival brings together the nation's sommelier community and wine aficionados for a blind-tasting tournament led by event creator Adam Sweders. Sixty-four individuals will go head-to-head to advance to the championship round with the ultimate hope of taking home the grand prize, a staggering $25,000 cash prize. The runner-up will receive $3,000, and the other two final four contestants will each earn $1,000.

WineRival, renowned as "The World's Most Exciting Wine Event," is not just an event; it's now a thrilling reality competition TV show. Produced by the masterminds behind hit shows like NBC's The Voice and Hollywood Game Night, WineRival is a wine competition like no other.

This year's event is all about tailgating with guests dining on an inventive menu by Celebrity Chef Fabio Viviani while sipping on a wide variety of the world's most renowned wineries in a walk-around atmosphere. Guests will revel in the intricate flavors and aromas as they sample Penfolds wines that have earned global recognition for their excellence. While wine takes the spotlight, a full bar with craft cocktails will cater to all preferences, plus craft beer offerings from Two Brothers.

For those seeking a refined experience, Acqua Panna's Water Sommelier will be on-site to expertly pair their Spring Water with the world's finest caviar. Guests will also have access to the DAOU Winery's spa lounge for a rejuvenating impromptu shoulder rub, plus interactive experiences courtesy of Penfolds— one of the world's most prestigious wineries.  

Like last year, a portion of the proceeds will benefit The Balance Project. Located in Highland Park, The Balance Project is a non-profit organization helping families and individuals access emotional wellness support. They build mental health awareness through education and community programming, as well as connect individuals to resources and treatment. Part of their mission is to eliminate financial barriers for all to find a better balance.
