CHICAGO - Celebrity Chef Dominique Leach, who has been lauded for having the best barbeque in Chicago, will showcase her culinary skills and line of retail products during a demo at Living Fresh Market, on Saturday, November 18th, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Living Fresh Market, located at 7520 Roosevelt Road in west suburban Forest Park, is one of a handful of full-scale grocery stores in the U.S. owned by African Americans. In September, a ribbon-cutting event celebrated the official opening of the newly renovated 71,000-square-foot supermarket.

Chef Dominique has received international acclaim as a female pitmaster after appearing in several competitions for The Food Network, where she won the “BBQ Brawl” in September, and after being featured on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” for having the best barbeque in Chicago.  In 2020, Chef Dominique opened Lexington Betty Smokehouse, a restaurant in the Pullman neighborhood, named after her grandmother and the Mississippi community her family migrated from to Chicago. Recently, she entered a collaboration with Vander Farms, a Michigan company, that manufactures a line of food products under the Lexington Betty Foods LLC brand.
Living Fresh Market will carry her full line of products, which include the Wagyu Beef Franks, the Andouille Beef Sausage, the TETE BBQ seasoning, and the Spicy Betty BBQ Sauce. Melody Winston, senior executive for Living Fresh Market, said the supermarket is excited about the partnership and she looks forward to a longtime relationship.

“She is a pitmaster who has been on numerous shows and in many competitions and she has just come out a winner every time,” Winston said. “She is young and enthusiastic, and she has established some partnerships with people who really care about food and health and communities. She is one of the trailblazers we want to partner with because we consider ourselves at Living Fresh Market a trailblazer and an organization that enjoys serving people and communities.”

Winston added that Chef Dominique is a role model for women in the male-dominated industry, and her products are unique and very good. “There’s nothing like her Wagyu Beef Franks and her Tete Spice and Barbeque sauce,” she said.

Chef Dominique said she is “thrilled to introduce Lexington Betty Smokehouse products to patrons of Living Fresh Market and support other Black small businesses like myself in the process.”

“Barbeque for me is all about family and community, two things that align with this company's core values, so this partnership is one that I know will be successful,” she said. “The Lexington Betty Foods team is grateful for this opportunity that Melody has given us, and we hope Forest Park residents enjoy this line as much as we've seen first-hand at our restaurant in Chicago.”
