PROMINENT GHANAIAN BISHOP & AUTHOR IN ILLINOIS
Noted Bishop James Ashaley Kotey of Ghana, West Africa, is in Chicago on a visit to Illinois as part of a two-month religious tour of the U.S. He has previously visited South Carolina and Connecticut. He also traveled to the United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil, and Holland on a world tour.
Bishop Kotey, who is the head of the Shofar Revival Church International near Accra, Ghana's capital, is the author of the acclaimed E-book, "The Mystery of the Holy Spirit." Bishop Kotey has led his church for 30 years, and under his leadership, the church has made tremendous growth. With church planting as his focus, the bishop has led the church in establishing 24 branches.
The bishop is a firm advocate of church planting and sharing with believers the role of the Holy Spirit in their lives as the source of wisdom and revelation, among others. He is also the founder of the African Street Orphanage Foundation, which takes care of 24 children.
Min. Dr. Nicholas Thompson, director of the Africa Resurrection and Restoration Ministries (ARRM), is hopeful about the successful outcome of Bishop Kotey's visit to Illinois.
"The Scriptures say "a bishop must have a good testimony among those who are outside." (1 Timothy 3:7)
"The bishop desires a good work....sober-minded, spirit-driven and ability to teach the Word of God."
During his visit to Illinois, Bishop Kotey will deliver sermons at area churches on his itinerary. According to his tour coordinator, Eld. Francis Quartey, the bishop, will also be available to visit churches and establish personal contacts. He can be reached at 331-253-9241.
