THE MAYOR’S BALL, A WHITE-TIE CELEBRATION FOR MAYOR- ELECT BRANDON JOHNSON, WITH LIVE ENTERTAINMENT, A MINI TASTE OF BLACK CHICAGO AND FUNDRAISING TO STOP SEX TRAFFICKING OF BLACK GIRLS IN CHICAGO, WILL WOW!!!!
A white-tie formal evening, The Ball is intended to mirror Chicago, characterized with LIVE entertainment, dancing, and great food. Partial proceeds from the evening will benefit The Dream Catcher Foundation (DCF), a Chicago-based 501 C3 working to prevent Sex Trafficking of young Black girls, which is happening most often on the Westside in the City of Chicago. According to research, Black girls disproportionately account for the victims. Also, offenders target Black girls because they believe, if caught, the penalty will be less harsh and the incident will receive little to no attention. Based on statistics and research, every hour of every day, 2 Black girls are kidnapped out of the City of Chicago, about 25,000 a year.
The Ball opens with DJ Sam Chatman and Chicago-Styled Steppin, followed by an arousing performance by Chicago native “Jus Mahon” aka Maurice Mahon at 7pm. The FM Omni-Channel’s Brian Frazier is expected to get the crowd on their feet post the Mahon performance. Of course, an evening this fabulous will be hosted by the station’s morning man, Ramonski Luv of The Ramonski Luv Morning Show.
Ticket prices are intentionally modest, so that all can attend, especially those that may be on a payment plan.
