STANCE FREE Charity Fashion Show Teach Small Businesses Owners How to Market Themselves in the Northwest Suburb
(Elgin, IL, April 3rd) Free For You Services is taking a stance against poverty excited to have by holding its first STANCE (Striving To Advance Negative Community Environments) Charity Fashion Show on May 7, 2023, from 4:30 PM -7:30 PM at the Chicago Theatre Works: 1113 Belmont Ave. Chicago, IL 60657.
The event is strategically designed to prepare and spotlight home-based and small business entrepreneurs who are in low-income communities and aspire to become entrepreneurs. Included are start-up fashion designers, t-shirt makers, artists, estheticians, and more who will use the event and vending opportunity to help gain an audience for their businesses. For many, this is their first event as small business owners. The event will help them gain skills and knowledge for future opportunities.
After years of providing free tax services to a community of talented sole proprietors with great entrepreneurial ideas in low-income communities, Free For You Services saw the need to become the channel that brings them together. These start-up companies have the skills but lack the resources, knowledge, and experience to know how to grow their businesses. The STANCE Charity Fashion Show gives them an opportunity to experience the steps it takes before going outside of their communities to market themselves. The event will also have other companies such as ADP attend, who will show them how to keep records and payroll of their employees.
“People who attend the fashion show should expect to see only start-up businesses or organizations and companies that support them,” said Free For You Services founder Dekovia Livingston, “ Everyone involved in the event and guests are coming to enjoy, support and learn while supporting our organization to continue to provide free services to low-income communities in Northwest Suburbs and Chicagoland.
Free For You Services provides workshops and free tax preparation for the elderly, students, people with disabilities, military personnel, and people who speak English as a Second Language whose income falls below $54,000. The organization also facilitates annual back-to-school events, expungement workshops, and FAFSA application assistance to first-time and returning students.
