Rich Township Mourns Loss Of Assessor Ranieri
On behalf of the Rich Township Board Trustees, we would like to express our deepest sympathies for the loss of Carol Ranieri. We know that Carol was a beloved member of the Rich Township community, and her passing has deeply impacted us all.
Carol began her career with Rich Township in May of 1986 as a receptionist. In 1989, she transferred to the Assessor’s Department and quickly proved to have an aptitude for the position. She took classes and in the spring of 2005 was elected to the office of Rich Township Assessor, where she served three elected terms, beginning in January of 2006.
During her tenure, Carol was the secretary for the Assessor’s division of TOCC (Township Officials of Cook County), where she was well-respected by her peers across the state. Her pleasant demeanor, wisdom, and willingness to share her knowledge with others were just some of the reasons why she was so admired by those who worked with her.
During her time as Assessor, Carol's husband John was the head of the township Emergency Services Disaster Agency, and their partnership in serving the community was evident to all. Carol retired on December 31st, 2017, after many years of devoted service as an Assessor. Her commitment to the community will always be remembered, and her loss is deeply felt by all of us.
We know that Carol's passing is a great loss to the Rich Township community and beyond. Her legacy of hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving others will continue to inspire and motivate us all. We are grateful for the contributions that she made to Rich Township, and we extend our deepest sympathies to her family and friends during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Rich Township Supervisor Calvin Jordan and the full Board of Trustees
