tgin Foundation recently donated $40,000 to the Harvard Black Alumni Society.

The tgin Foundation was created in 2015 by Harvard graduate and CEO of Thank God It's Natural haircare, Chris-Tia Donaldson who was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 36. During Chris-Tia's treatment she learned that very few organizations existed that provided support to help women of color with needs they may have during treatment. The tgin Foundation advocates for women experiencing financial difficulties, who are undergoing treatment and to highlight health disparities due to race and socio-economic factors. Chris-Tia passed away of breast cancer in 2021.

While studying at Harvard Law School, Donaldson, together with classmates, founded the Harvard Black Alumni Society in 2002, and served as HBAS' inaugural President. In her role as HBAS President, Donaldson organized the first Black Alumni Weekend, which drew hundreds of alums back to campus to convene in fellowship, to reconnect with the University, and to engage in dialogue around issues impacting our communities.

Chris-Tia Donaldson's family was on hand to present a check for $40,000 to the group on behalf of her memory.
