CALUMET CITY POLICE IS HIRING FULL-TIME 911 COMMUNICATION OFFICERS

STARTING SALARY BEGINS AT $41,731 WITH HEALTH, VISION, DENTAL,

(Calumet City, IL) Mayor Thaddeus Jones and the City of Calumet City are excited to announce the opening of available positions. Calumet City Police Department is looking for excellent communication officers that will work amongst the local police department as 9-1-1 communication operators. The Calumet City police department serves a population of 36,500 residents with a strong presence of ethnic and cultural diversity. The Calumet City Police department 911 Center operates 24 hours a day. It is responsible for receiving and processing emergency and non-emergency calls from the public requesting police, fire, medical, and other emergency services. Communication officers should anticipate a fast pace, robust, and flexible career field. This position will offer paid vacation time, quarterly uniform allowance, health, dental, vision, life insurance coverage, and pension.

Applicants applying must meet various minimum requirements for consideration. All applicants must be 21 years of age at the time of hire, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, successfully complete the Criti-Call online dispatching exam, and must pass a thorough background investigation, including polygraph, psychological exam, and medical and drug screenings. Mayor Thaddeus Jones hopes that many residents will apply as this could be a great starter position for an introduction into the law enforcement field.
