CHICAGO PUBLIC LIBRARY WELCOMES DAVID DUCHOVNY TO HAROLD WASHINGTON LIBRARY CENTER JUNE 14 IN CONVERSATION WITH PETER SAGAL

Chicago Public Library (CPL) today announced that they will be hosting award-winning actor, writer, director, singer-songwriter and bestselling author David Duchovny at the Harold Washington
Library Center June 14 at 6 p.m., in conversation with Peter Sagal, to discuss his new novella The Reservoir. Books will be available for purchase and Duchovny will be available to autograph copies at the
conclusion of the program.

David Duchovny is an award-winning actor, writer, director, New York Times best-selling author, and singer- songwriter. With an acting career spanning more than three decades, Duchovny is a two-time
Golden Globe winner and four-time Emmy nominee. He is a prolific author whose fourth novel, Truly Like Lightning, was published in February 2021. His previous novels include the New York Times best
seller Holy Cow, Bucky F*cking Dent, and Miss Subways. As a musician, Duchovny has released two studio albums, Hell or
Highwater and Every Third Thought.

His new book, The Reservoir, follows an unexceptional man in an exceptional time. We see our present-day pandemic world and New York City through the eyes of a former Wall Street veteran, Ridley, as
he, in his enforced quarantined solitude, looks back upon his life. He examines his wins, his failures, the gnawing questions— his career, his divorce, his estranged daughter—and wonders what it all means
and who he really is.

Peter Sagal is the host of the Peabody Award-winning NPR™ news quiz Wait Wait . . . Don’t Tell Me!™ and the author of The Incomplete Book of Running and The Book of Vice. He is a playwright,
screenwriter, an amateur athlete, and host of several podcasts and documentaries, including The Chernobyl Podcast from HBO and Constitution USA with Peter Sagal on PBS.

How to Attend David Duchovny Discussion:

Doors to the Cindy Pritzker Auditorium at the Harold Washington Library will open at 5:30 p.m., and seating is first come, first served (350 capacity). Should the auditorium fill to capacity, guests will
be seated in an overflow room and view the event by live video simulcast. Books are available for purchase and the author will autograph copies at the conclusion of the program.

This event will also be streamed live on CPL’s YouTube channel and CPL’s Facebook page. Chicago Public Library will archive the video on YouTube for folks who are unable to attend or tune in virtually to watch live.
