CHOOSE CHICAGO AND THE CITY OF CHICAGO
ANNOUNCED “WELCOME TO OUR NEIGHBORHOODS”

Chicago, (July 20, 2022) – Choose Chicago announced a new local neighborhood tourism campaign encouraging Chicago residents to explore the city’s 77 unique and diverse neighborhoods.

“Welcome to our Neighborhoods,” developed in partnership with The City of Chicago and advertising agency FCB Chicago, a signatory to the city’s “By Chicago. For Chicago” pro-bono
pledge. The ads highlight the unique cultures, communities, cuisines, and customs in Chicago’s diverse neighborhoods. The first phase of the campaign will launch the week of July 11 and will
feature attractions from neighborhoods across the city as identified by residents and small businesses. “Welcome to our Neighborhoods” builds on the community-led marketing campaign
that Choose Chicago began last year, and this intra-city tourism ad campaign is the first time Chicagoans and suburbanites
will be explicitly encouraged to explore the city in their backyard.

“Chicago is a city of stories, and each one of our neighborhoods has its own to tell,” said Lynn Osmond, President and CEO at Choose Chicago. “We are launching this local ad campaign to
inspire Chicagoans to venture out of the neighborhoods they live or work in to experience all that the city has to offer.”

The campaign will appear primarily on digital in-app and mobile display, as well as on strategically placed billboards, digital screens, and banners across Chicago. Digital assets for the
campaign are available here.

“We wanted to do something different and engaging,” said Andrés
Ordóñez, Chief Creative Officer, FCB Chicago. “Instead of showing images of the neighborhoods, we are relying on
the local nuances from each community and creating intrigue by alluding to what you might find there through bold, eye-catching typography.”

Rob Fojtik, Vice President of Neighborhood Strategy at Choose
Chicago said, “As additional campaign assets are developed throughout the summer, community organizations and residents will be integral to the drafting and placement of ads, which will run
through September. We will be reaching out to our partner neighborhoods about collaboration opportunities.”

“Quad Communities Development Corporation (QCDC) is excited to Celebrate Community & Commerce in Bronzeville by continuing the collaboration with Choose Chicago as its launches this new campaign to drive visitors into our neighborhoods,” said Rhonda McFarland, Executive Director of the Quad Communities Development Corporation. “The neighborhoods of Bronzeville have long been recognized as a worldwide tourist destination with
much to offer. We welcome visitors from near and far.”

“Pilsen is one of the coolest neighborhoods in the world and we’re proud of that,” said Alex Esparza, Executive Director of the Economic Strategies Development Corporation (ESDC). “Any
opportunity to further highlight our unexpected or hidden gems, such as this campaign, is a chance to get new people
interested in visiting.”

“Uptown’s partnership with Choose Chicago has strengthened significantly in the last year, and this ad campaign will not only highlight all the unique facets of our neighborhood but amplify
exposure and drive more visitors to Uptown,” said Sarah Wilson, Executive Director of Uptown United.

“This campaign is a perfect way to highlight the unexpected or hidden gems in Logan Square and other neighborhoods
to drive new visitation,” said Nilda Esparza, Executive Director of
the Logan Square Chamber of Commerce.
