(Lynwood, IL) Mayor Jada D. Curry and the Village of Lynwood are proud to announce “Lynwood is Lit: Holiday Lights Festival kickoff was an absolute success. The highly anticipated lights festival featured a light show, hot cocoa, cider, family photos, and ornament decorating. The family event was designed to engage all members of the family to experience the holidays in a special way. Lynwood’s very own fire chief has been selected as one of “Great Chicago Lights” top five finalists for holiday lights homes of Lynwood. Mayor Jada Curry hopes that the holiday spirit continues to shine through the Village of Lynwood and that every guest feels welcome to come back.
This year Lynwood Fire Chief Keenan Newton took first place in the competition. His extremely well decorated home is located at 20581 Kings Arthur Court in Lynwood, Illinois.
“The Village of Lynwood is super grateful to be able to put on beautiful holiday events for our residents and neighboring communities. The holiday season is tremendously special to many people, and our goal is to show that in events like our holiday lights festival. It's been a joy planning this, as everyone loves pitching in to make sure that our residents and neighbors feel welcome. We anticipate our festival will become a staple in the Southland, and we can’t wait for 2023,” says Mayor Jada Curry.
As holiday lights have become one of the many great things that people worldwide enjoy, The Village of Lynwood is excited that they can keep a tradition alive with countless fun designs and that children can still enjoy wonders of great holiday fun.
“We really enjoy that Lynwood can provide us with something to do for our entire family. Our kids enjoy seeing the lighted trees and vibrant colors that light up our windows. It makes us feel like we are home in Arizona, where we recently located from,” says Garza Family.
The lights festival will continue through December 31st. Residents are encouraged to drive up and explore the beautiful holiday decor. For more information, visit www. lynwoodil.us.
