GSU Holds Second Annual Film Festival As Submissions Grow In Popularity
Tickets are now on sale for the Second Annual Chicago Southland International Film Festival (CSIFF) at Governors State University September 6 through 8, 2019.
In celebration of the university’s 50th anniversary cultural season, CSIFF will feature a Short Film Competition, a Feature Film Showcase, director-led Q&As, and an awards ceremony at GSU’s Center for Performing Arts.
Following last year’s inaugural event, CSIFF organizers have announced that this year’s Short Film Competition has received four times the number of submissions as received last year.
Entries represent more than 18 countries and include films from high school, college, and professional filmmakers. Additionally, the festival will include California-based director Roberta Grossman’s documentary “Who Will Write Our History” produced by Nancy Spielberg and GSU professor Sanghoon Lee’s directorial debut feature “Banana Season.”
Feature films will be screened on Sunday, September 8, 2019, along with Q&A sessions with directors Grossman and Lee. On Friday and Saturday, September 6 and 7, international short films will be screened.
Awards also will be given on Saturday.
