Lincoln Financial Group’s Kirkland L. Hicks Named One of the Most Powerful Executives in Corporate America by Black Enterprise Magazine
RADNOR, Pa--Lincoln Financial Group (NYSE: LNC) announced recently that Kirkland L. Hicks, executive vice president and general counsel, was included
in Black Enterprise magazine’s list of Most Powerful Executives in Corporate America. The list highlights the highest-ranking African-American executives at the nation’s 1,000 largest publicly-traded companies and 100 international
companies with significant U.S. operations.
“Kirkland’s unique combination of legal expertise, business savvy
and strong leadership warrants his inclusion on this list,” said Dennis R. Glass,
President & CEO, Lincoln Financial Group. “His positive influence is felt across
our business, and he personifies our company’s brand which honors the values and legacy of Abraham Lincoln.”
Hicks oversees all activities for the legal, compliance, government relations and corporate secretary functions of the company. As a member of the company’s senior management committee, he also provides strategic counsel to the CEO, senior management team and board of directors.
Prior to joining Lincoln in 2015, Hicks held a number of senior positions and ultimately served as vice president, general counsel and secretary at Towers Watson & Co. (now Willis Towers Watson). He serves on the board of visitors
of Duke University Law School, where he earned his law degree, as well as the board of visitors of North Carolina A&T State University, where he earned his
undergraduate degree.
