Legendary Attorney James Montgomery Sr. Featured Author at African Festival of the Arts

Attorney James Montgomery Sr. will autograph copies of his debut biography Full Circle: Race, Law & Justice, co-authored by Walter M. Perkins and Michelle Thompson and published by Third World Press Foundation, on Saturday, September 1, from 1:00-2:00PM in the Author & Book Pavilion at the African Festival of the Arts. Montgomery has conducted several book signings over the past few months, sharing stories from the book, which is set against the racialized backdrop of Chicago and America over the last 60 years. Full Circle covers some of the top cases – like Hampton, El Rukns, Medley, Haggerty.

It tells the story of one man’s journey to realize the American Dream and the hell he went through to get there while offering good advice, especially for youth, prospective lawyers, and young professionals. Along the way, Montgomery discusses his relationships with the famous, including America’s most recent first family and their former pastor, as well as his role in the founding of Trinity United Church of Christ.

For more than 50 years, Third World Press Foundation has published poetry, fiction, and non-fiction by the most prolific writers across multiple generations. Visit http://thirdworldpressfoundation.org/ for more information.
