USA Football Hits the Turf in Richton Park
USA Football, the sport’s national governing body and a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee, will conduct 24 U.S. National Team Regionals in 2018, one of which will be April 28 – 29th at Rich South High School, Richton Park, Ill. The Regional takes place over two-days with much focus on skill development and non-contact events, where invited athletes are evaluated for U.S. National Team roster spots. Approximately 300 participants and their families throughout the Midwest will be attending.
“The Village is very enthusiastic to be able to create such a partnership with USA Football and host their Midwest Regionals here in Richton Park. Being a host of the USA Football’s Regional Development Camp will bring many visitors from near and far to learn about all that Richton Park and the Chicago Southland has to offer. We are excited and can’t wait to hit the turf,” stated Mayor Rick Reinbold of Richton Park.
“It is exciting to hear that Rich South High School was selected to the primary location for one of the U.S. National Team Regionals. We are a proud partner with the Village of Richton Park and USA Football, but more importantly, we are excited to have the opportunity for our students to witness this wonderful event,” said Superintendent Dr. Johnnie Thomas.
“The Chicago Southland Convention and Visitors Bureau is excited that these young athletes get their chance to step up and gain exposure on a national level,” stated Joel Koester Sports Market Manager for the CVB. “We hope that all the families take time to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Chicago Southland while in our region”.
