THE DUSABLE MUSEUM IS SEEKING THE PUBLIC’S ASSISTANCE WITH A NEW EXHIBITION Chicago, IL. (25 May 2017) --- The DuSable Museum of African American History is currently seeking information from individuals, families, organizations and others in the Chicagoland area and beyond that is specifically related to and/or representing the World War I , 8th Illinois/370th United States Infantry. The DuSable is creating a new exhibition to commemorate the centennial of World War I and which will focus on the 370th regiment which was comprised entirely of African American troops all from Illinois. The exhibition is scheduled to open in November of 2017 and any materials offered for the exhibition would be on temporary loan to the Museum and returned at the close of the exhibition’s run. The Museum is seeking photographs, regalia, announcements, medals, flags, books and other printed materials, in addition to interviews, audio/visual materials and personal stories. Interested parties who may be in possession of any of the requested items are asked to contact DuSable Museum Archivist Skyla Hearn at 773-947-0600 ext 247 or via email at shearn@dusablemuseum.org for details and practices of how to loan materials for the exhibition. The World War I 8th Illinois/370th United States Infantry exhibition is being produced in collaboration with the First Division Museum at Cantigny Park; Chicago Defender; Bronzeville Military Academy; Chicago History Museum; the 8th Infantry Association; Illinois Army National Guard; the Office of Cultural Affairs, Consulate General de France; and the Robert R.
