corporate ladder as an Afro-Latina woman,” according to a press release.
Currently, Williams is the Multicultural Marketing Leader at North America for Kimberly-C lark Corporation. She maintains Kimberly-C lark’s vision by guiding the Company’s business and purpose to
diverse audiences and successful brands like Scott, U by Kotex and Huggies, which all are enclosed around North America’s $6 Billion dollar business.
Williams said during her upcoming disc ussion, she’ll share how Black Girl Magic is beneficial for black women who choose to use it as leverage and navigate through corporate America.
“If you look a t black girls in particular, they are one of the fastest, educated groups growing in the United States. “[Black girls] influence
everything in the [United States] from culture to music and what we really consider being American. So, I’m really optimistic about the future of corporate America.”
Williams, who was honored at the 2016 Black Enterprise Top Women Executives in Advertising, according to hispanicize 2016.
sched.com, said Black History Month is important and should always be celebrated because black people today are standing on the shoulders of corporate pioneering giants who have helped shape and influence the fabric of this country.
“When you think about Black History Month, it’s really about celebrating our culture and the rich history [behind it],” she said. As
much as it is about celebrating the past, it’s also about understanding our future.”
As an industry pioneer, Williams has shared her expertise at national multicultural marketing conferences and events in the past,
including the 2015 Association of National Advertisers Multicultural Marketing & Diversity Conference..
Williams said she believes it’s her duty to pass the baton so that success and wealth can be achieved for future generations.
“Equal treatment of African Americans [in this country] isn’t always focused on the needs of black women which leaves black women feeling discouraged and [left out],” Williams said. “So, this is why I make it a personal [commitment] to mentor as many black women as I can.”
Williams said her main goal is for black women to leave the ‘Cracking the concrete ceiling: Bringing Black Girl Magic to Corporate America” conference knowing they can walk in their own authenticity and truth and use that as their power to crack the ceiling
of corporate America.
“I hope many [black women] leave with the understanding that the ability to leverage black girl magic and drive a career that’s based
in courage and resilience are the [keys] to having a successful corporate career,” she said.
