She Leads Africa
She Leads Africa, the West African social enterprise and women’s business-focused movement is going global, and bringing its hugely successful boot-camp programme, SheHive, to New York City from June 2-5th 2016. The four day event will feature some of the city’s leading African and diaspora entrepreneurs and business women, who will be sharing insight and advice, as well as leading workshops on building business skills for the future. The team heads to NYC following recent news that cofounder Yasmin Belo-Osagie has been named one of Fast Company’s top 100 Most Creative People In Business in 2016.
Confirmed speakers for SheHive NYC include Asmau Ahmed, Founder, PlumPerfect [one of only 11 black female founders to raise above $1mn for a tech startup], Vanessa De Luca, Editor-In-Chief, Essence Magazine and Adiat Disu, Director of African Fashion Week New York. This is also an opportunity for young women to re-engage with the continent of Africa and network with other young African women while building their professional skills. The full itinerary can be found on the SLA website at sheleadsafrica.org.
