Mobile Museum Informs Community About Civil Rights
The Martin Luther King Dream Team has created the first ever mobile museum about the civil rights movement in Indiana called the Freedom Bus.
The bus will travel around East Central Indiana, visiting schools and organizations to inform residents about how the civil rights movement has impacted their communities.
The Freedom Bus showcases stories of Black citizens who encountered segregation and persevered past the oppression within their community.
The MLK Dream Team is a nonprofit organization dedicated to spreading civil rights education across East Central Indiana. The Freedom Bus is a renovated city bus with exhibits that feature the oppressive nature of the time period and the efforts of the movement’s leaders to encourage equality.
