Smokey Robinson and Skinphonic LLC Launch Two Skincare Brands

(BPRW)- Smokey Robinson together with Skinphonic LLC announced recently the launch of two skincare brands. A men’s line called Get Ready Cause Here I Come® and a women’s line called My Girl®. Smokey Robinson will be representing the men’s line and his wife, Frances Robinson, will be representing My Girl®, the women’s line.

The launch follows approximately two and a half years of product development and clinical testing to prove the efficacy of the respective brands. The Get Ready and My Girl® products were originally developed for Smokey Robinson and his wife Frances because they were not satisfied with the skincare products available to them in the marketplace. The Robinsons sought the help of top skincare developers, Les Riley and Dr. Sergio Nacht, PhD, of Skinphonic LLC.

Les Riley is a 30+ year veteran in skincare and the field of dermatology, including leadership of the prescription Retin-A® sensation while President of the Ortho Dermatological Division for Johnson & Johnson and member of the board of directors. He was then President and member of the board of NeoStrata Company, the inventor of Alpha Hydroxy Acid skincare technology, President of Topical Technologies at Cardinal Health, and one of the first corporate executives to be granted membership in the American Academy of Dermatology.

Dr. Nacht is a skin biologist with over 40 years of commercial experience in the field of dermatology. He is the co-author of more than 50 scientific publications, holds 15 US patents and was the director of the development team for multiple well known brand lines including; Clearasil®, Olay® and Pantene®. Dr. Nacht’s technologies and formulas are featured in hundreds of products worldwide.

The Skinphonic team had the challenge of developing skincare solutions that solved several different common issues facing people of color. These issues include hyperpigmentation, oily skin, dry skin, age spots and wrinkles. By taking a new approach, they formulated a coordinated product regimen for men and women, respectfully, that helps improve the overall appearance of the skin and allows the skin to begin to naturally heal itself. This also restores and protects from damage caused by sun and environmental exposure.

“I was really surprised,” said Smokey Robinson, “I noticed that my skin was smoother in just over a week. Over time the results kept getting better. I knew right then and there that this was a product that we needed to make available for people of color.” Frances Robinson added, “Since starting the My Girl® regimen, people are constantly commenting on how glowing and healthy my skin looks. I love the way it feels.”

The Robinsons began working with Skinphonic to test, manufacture, market, and distribute the new brands. The lines were named after two of Smokey Robinson’s songs and the skincare trademarks were secured in November 2015.

Skinphonic then conducted extensive clinical trials which validated the efficacy of both the My Girl® and Get Ready brands. “In all my years, these are the best results I have seen a consumer product regimen achieve. I was surprised by how well the products performed for so many skin concerns without causing irritation and without side effects,” said Les Riley, CEO of Skinphonic. “These products truly exceeded our expectations in clinical testing.” To learn more about Skinphonic and the brand lines go to Skinphonic.com
