NBC’s ‘The Voice’ 2016 Finalist SA’RAYAH Talks about her future and more

Los Angeles, CA -- Sa’Rayah, NBC’s

The Voice 2016 Finalist, sees a big future in

the stars for herself. Megastars Alicia Keys

and Miley Cyrus both lead the blooming

artist throughout the six-time Emmy award

winning reality show. Cyrus paired Sa’rayah

with fellow voice contestant Aaron Gibson;

the pairing proved to be a success. Their

striking performance of Joe Bonamossa and

Beth Hart’s, “I’ll Take Care Of You” landed

them #1 on the iTunes Blues chart where

they remained for weeks until Sa’rayah

outdid herself. Under the direction of 14 time

GRAMMY award winning artist Alicia Keys,

Sa’rayah debuted her breathtaking rendition

of Etta James’ “I’d Rather Go Blind” which

immediately took over the number #1 slot,

leaving both the duo and the legend herself

Etta James beneath her on the blues charts.

Sa’Rayah performed Tina Turner’s song

‘Proud Mary’ in The Voice Live Finalealong

with her peers Billy Gilman, Ali Caldwell,

Courtney Harrell and Christian Cuevas. She

shared the stage with notables such as: Kiss,

Sting, Bruno Mars, Cam, The Weekend, John

Legend, Kelly Clarkson, Ariana Grande, and

sang with the incomparable legendary Stevie

Wonder.

“It’s crazy when you sit back and think

about just how far you’ve come and all of the

memorable moments that have come from

one huge opportunity. The beauty of it is knowing that

I can still be just who I am and bare the same light in

the midst of even these people. You never know why

God gives you these moments and places you in the

path of people you least expect. I’m simply excited for

everything that is to come. It only gets greater later,”

reflects Sa’Rayah.

Sa’Rayah was recently invited by The Black

Aids Institute to perform at its Annual Heroes in

the Struggle Gala and Award Show, honoring Lee

Daniels, creator of FOX’s hit show ‘Empire’. Both

Sa’rayah and singer Shanice lent their voices to fight the

AIDS epidemic in the African American community.

Actor Jussie Smollett spoke highly of Sa’rayah while

introducing the star as the closing

act of the night. Her powerful,

passionate interpretation of Andra

Day’s “Rise Up” left everyone on

their feet. Daniels expressed to

her how he really enjoyed her

performance. She left the crowd

in tears.

Sa’Rayah began the

LoveONLY movement as a

response to the cyber bullying she

experienced after winning season

11’s knockout round on NBC’s

The Voice. The cyber bullying

compelled Sa’rayah to take a

stance against hatred. In October,

she launched her #LoveONLY

campaign, a movement all

about love. Sa’Rayah expressed,

“Comments like these provoked

me to love harder and smear light

and love all over the hate, because

I understand that in any situation,

it’s not about the people who

choose hatred, but rather about

the way we choose to respond…my

answer is…LoveOnly.”

Sa’rayah has often been

referred to as a ray of light. In

hopes of finding a name suitable

for her fans, she embraced the

name “SUNRAYS,” suggesting that her fans bear the

same light that she does. She quotes, “In a world of

darkness, it is important that we be the light we want to

see.”

Sa’Rayah, a Chicago native is hosting a

Homecoming Concert on January 12, 2017 at the

DuSable Museum. Expect an All-Star line up of talent.
