Registration Now Open for City Colleges of Chicago Summer and Fall 2016 Terms

Chicagoans who want a quality, affordable education to prepare for further college or career can register now for the Summer and Fall 2016 semesters at City Colleges of Chicago, the largest community college system in Illinois.

City Colleges offers certificate and associate degree programs, which prepare students to secure a job in a high-demand field or transfer to a four-year university, as well as free English as a Second Language (ESL) and GED high school equivalency instruction offered at 70 locations across the city.

City Colleges ensures students are ready for the more than 600,000 jobs coming to the Chicago region in fast-growing fields through its College to Careers programs in healthcare (Malcolm X College), business and professional services (Harold Washington College), advanced manufacturing (Daley College), information technology (Wright College), culinary and hospitality (Washburne Culinary Institute at Kennedy-King College), construction (Dawson Technical Institute), education, human and natural sciences (Truman College), and transportation, distribution and logistics (Olive-Harvey College).  Through College to Careers, City Colleges works with leading employers and universities to connect its students to networking, internship and career opportunities and ensure its programs and facilities reflect the demands of the workforce.

By completing an associate degree at City Colleges, students can save tens of thousands of dollars toward a bachelor’s degree.  Because many City Colleges courses are transferable to four-year colleges and universities, four-year college students home in Chicago for the summer can save by taking summer courses at City Colleges and transferring the credit back to their home university.

Courses are offered during the day, in the evening, on weekends, and also online.  In fact, City Colleges has just launched its first complete online associate degree program in business and economics open to any Illinois resident.

New students can register for courses beginning April 6, and can apply by visiting the admissions page. Continuing students can start registering on April 4. Summer classes begin June 8, 2016. Search for Summer and Fall 2016 courses at all seven City Colleges campuses here.
