CBA Hosts Golf Outing Sept. 24 at Harborside International
The Chatham Business Association (CBA) is hosting its annual golf outing Sept. 24 at the Harborside International Golf Center.
The event will be held on a 57-acre site, which contains a 24,000 square-foot Prairie Style clubhouse at 11001 S. Doty Ave. East, Chicago.
The gathering is a great way to network, according to Gwen Shaw, assistant secretary of the association.
“What better way to have an individual’s attention, especially someone you want to talk to, then a round of golf,” Shaw told a group of business professionals at the association’s monthly meeting at the QBG Foundation/Chicago Citizen Newspaper headquarters, 806 E. 78th St. Chicago.
The golf outing is one of the association’s main fund-raisers.
Last year, about 70 golfers participated in the CBA event. The outing raised about $10,000 for the association.
The association was formed in 1972 to help spark investment, nurturing and protection of the South Side’s Chatham neighborhood.
The stated purpose was to “band together to foster, create and explore those plans and programs that will ensure stability and growth of our business communities.”
The outing costs $250 per golfer or $80 for cocktails and dinner only.
Registration at the site is at 11 a.m. Activities start at 12:30 p.m. The cocktail reception starts at 5:30 p.m.
