Bettie was a homemaker, as well as the GLUE that held our enormous family together through all things, while remaining grounded in her personal relationship with GOD. Bettie, affectionately known as Madear, was born in Greenwood Mississippi with a full time position of raising her family and standing firmly beside and in support of her husband, Joe, who proceeded her in death, who was a builder and farmer. The family migrated to Chicago in 1958 to position themselves to take full advantage of the Construction/builders boom here in Chicago which was the foundational start of our families Legacy in the Construction Industry among others endeavors. Chicago has been home to Madear until her choice was made to shed her earthly body and allow her spirit self to ascended onto our Creator.
The largest number of children born into the family in years’ time was in 1995, where 7 children were born
Out of the 15 children, 53 grandchildren, 103 great-grandchildren, 64 great-great grandchildren, & 2 great-great-great grandchild only 1 person shares a birthday with Madear: TaShanna McMullen (4/2/1997)
Bettie (Madear-the decease) & Joe (Dad-proceeded her in death) McMullen; there union produced 6 generations, that resulted into 237 people and more being born
