Southside Homeless Shelter Raising Funds for Beds
As winter kicks into full swing, A Little Bit of Heaven Homeless Shelter is trying to raise $2,900 to cover the purchase of 55 bedframes.
Located in Chicago’s Roseland neighborhood, for the past 15 years, a Little Bit of Heaven (501 C-3 charitable organization), has been providing shelter for adult homeless men as an Emergency Overnight Shelter Response Center (ESRN), the only one of its kind on the south side.
The Chicago Tribune recognized the impact A Little Bit of Heaven has made on thousands of lives by naming Director Shelia Braxton, whose mom founded the shelter as their “Remarkable Woman.”
A Little Bit of Heaven not only provides over 20,000 meals annually as well as overnight accommodations and showers for the Chicago area’s less fortunate but provides support services including referrals for income resources, job development, alcohol/substance abuse services, mental health services and transportation.

Once the beds arrive, you will be invited to tour the shelter to see the difference your contribution is making every day to helping Chicago’s underprivileged.
