South Suburban College Offering Free Business Workshops
One never knows if a new business or product will be successful. Some take off, while others fail.
Experts recommend looking critically and impartially at your new business idea when determining whether or not it's worth investing time and money. Of course, it can be difficult remaining impartial about an idea you're passionate about, so talking to a business advisor for qualified and objective perspectives, might be a good idea.
Entrepreneurs looking to get a business idea off the ground can take advantage of free small business workshops offered by South Suburban College’s Business & Career Institute and SCORE, Service Corp. of Retired Executives.
While there are no guarantees that your business will succeed, advice and input from experts can go a long way.
The upcoming two-part workshop takes place Nov. 12 and 19 at the college’s Oak Forest Center, 16333 S. Kilbourne Ave.
Attendees have the option of attending one or both of the workshops at no charge to help their business grow and also take advantage of the networking opportunities.
Registration and networking at SCORE workshops begin at 8:45 a.m., with instruction and discussion to follow from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Presented by Eric Hager, of William Innes & Wilbur Pelt, workshops are on the following dates:
· Taking Your Business Idea from Concept to Reality
Wednesday, Nov. 12, 8:45 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
· A Friendly Shark Tank Atmosphere
Wednesday, Nov. 19, 8:45 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
The first session is intended to stimulate ideas into business actions.
Attendees will receive instruction on becoming a business thinker by examining and developing an action plan document.
The second session takes place the following week and is an open panel discussion of selected summaries, also intended to stimulate business thinking. Attendees will receive instruction on how to sell their ideas professionally, enthusiastically and concisely.
All workshops will be held at the 16333 S. Kilbourn Ave., Oak Forest, Illinois.
