Chatham Resident Named Agency Exec
Metropolitan Family Services has named Bridget Vaughn as its Senior Director of Development.
Vaughn is a resident of Chicagos Chatham neighborhood and most recently served as Senior Director of Development, Major Gifts for the University of Illinois at Chicago.
She has over two decades of successful fundraising experience extensive knowledge in strategic partnerships, community relations, business process analytics and individual financial consulting. Furthermore, Vaughn earned a bachelors degree from Loyola University and a Master of Business Administration from Dominican University.
Vaughns past philanthropic roles include Associate Vice President, Office of University Collaborations, and Director of Development for Athletics and Student Affairs at DePaul University; and Director of Major Gifts at Loyola University Chicago.
Outside of her career, Vaughn is very active in the community. She is a member of the marketing and nominating committees for St. Ailbe Schools Board of Specified Jurisdiction. Additionally, since 2001, she has worked with the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana as a former Board Member and current Troop Leader.
Metropolitan states on its website that it receives funding from various sources including businesses, foundations and government agencies. Eighty cents of every dollar the agency receives is spent on client services.
The organization was founded as the Chicago Relief and Aid Society in 1857 and helped families through economic hardships and natural disasters.
The agency serves over 45,000 people through its range of services including early childhood education to elder care.
A 154 year old human services agency, Metropolitan has seven community centers located throughout the city including two in Roseland and South Chicago.
