For the past thirteen years, Carter-Hill has worked diligently with the non-profit organization, Imagine Englewood if! (IFi).
According to its website, IFis mission is to strengthen and empower the greater Englewood community through teaching local youth healthy living, environmental awareness and positive communications skills."
As IFis executive director, Carter-Hill has an immeasurable role. Through several initiatives and workshops, she motivates families to visualize a better life through commitment and community-organizing, parent and youth leadership training, computer access, journalism, gardening skills, entrepreneurship, nutrition, sex education, mentoring and homework, she said.
Serving 3 to 5 days a week, Carter Hill says she has helped approximately 1,000 individuals. The wife and great-grandmother also carves time out in her schedule to work with young people.
[I am] always available to explore enrichment opportunities with our youth, which includes some weekends, she said.
