Ill. dad accused of chaining teen son to dryer
GLENWOOD, Ill. - A Chicago-area father faces aggravated domestic battery charges for allegedly chaining his teen son to a dryer nearly every night and beating him with sticks.
Cook County prosecutors say 38-year-old Hugo Dominguez of south suburban Glenwood told police that he routinely locked his 13-year-old son in the laundry room.
His live-in girlfriend is also charged with abusing the boy.
Authorities say the couple would unchain him in the morning and keep him in the garage before sending him to school.
The teen told investigators that the couple also hit him with wooden ax handles, yardsticks, bamboo scratchers, belts and rulers.
His father has also allegedly stabbed him.
Dominguez is being held on $250,000 bond. It wasn't immediately clear who he's being represented by.
School officials reported the abuse this week.
