DETROIT (AP) _ General Motors Co. says it will close its two U.S. pickup truck plants for two weeks in July.

The company says the temporary shutdowns are for maintenance, but the closures come as truck sales are slowing and GM's inventory is building up.

Spokesman Tom Wickham says employees at the Flint, Michigan, and Fort Wayne, Indiana, plants were told of the closures in the first quarter.
