Kroeger is a shining example that perserverance can be rewarding.The wife and mother of two sons graduated with a bachelors degree from Governors State University (GSU) on Jun 4.A cancer survivor and U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Kroeger says her life experiences gave her a sense of urgency to complete all of her goalsincluding college.The retail banking employee credits her family for her monumental achievement.[I had] a lot of sleepless nights, [but] I have a great support system.My mom and husband take the kids for me when needed.Kroeger believes she was picked as GSUs commencement speaker because she represents many of the schools studentsworking adults who have families. Kroeger has advice for young people who are interested in attaining higher education. If you want to go to college just do it. Financial aid will be available. Dont be afraid, she said.
