Obituary, Scott R. Hubbell
Scott R. Hubbell, 56, of Eureka, passed away at 5:36 a.m., Monday, July 11, 2011 in the emergency room at Eureka Hospital.
Scott was born on January 18, 1955 in Tomah, Wisconsin to Richard and Rosemary Shields Hubbell. He married Kathleen Steurbaut in St. Charles, Illinois on September 19, 1981. Kathy survives.
Also surviving is his mother, Rosemary Hubbell of Eureka; one daughter, Emily (Joel) Ingram of Marina Del Ray, California; one son, Jonathan Hubbell of Bloomington; three brothers, Steven Hubbell of St. Paul, Minnesota, Brian Hubbell of Charlotte, North Carolina and Thomas (Amy) Hubbell of Davenport, Iowa; one sister, Kay (Marc) Gluckman of Yardley, Pennsylvania and his mother-in-law, Claudia Steurbaut of Hoffman Estates.
Scott was owner and publisher of Hubbell Publishing, which included the following newspapers, Washburn Leader, Eureka Herald, Metamora Herald and the Woodford County Shopper. He also had served on the board of the Illinois Press.
A celebration of Scott's life will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Doug Hicks officiating. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. on Thursday until time of service. Family graveside services will be held on Friday at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Edgerton, Wisconsin.
