Darryl Crater
Occupation: Route Salesman for Frito Lay
Why does he stand out?
For nearly 20 years, Darryl Crater has been the Director the Big Brothers Mentoring Program (BBMP) at the Monument of Faith Church which is an encouragement program for males ages 8-18.
Through BBMP, husbands and fathers of Monument of Faith Church help younger male members with character building, educational and spiritual activities and simply guide them in the right direction. BBMP has been thriving for 18 years and has successfully mentored over 500 young men.
I enjoy helping these young men achieve their goals and keep them on the path of being godly men, expressed Crater who devotes most of his free time to BBMP.
Crater is a route salesman for Frito Lay and works over 40 hours a week yet still finds the time for BBMP every Saturday.
According to Crater, BBMP is founded off of a basic principle: Proper Preparation and Practice will Prevent Poor Performance.
Crater chooses to live his life by a quote by Abraham Lincoln who once said, No man stands so tall as when he stoops to help a child.
In addition to being a longtime volunteer and leader, for over 20 years Crater has been a member of the Monument of Faith Church. He has been recognized by the parents of BBMP mentees and staff for the dedication and support he provides to the young men of the church.
