Mother Love: Healthy Living And The Power Of Forgiveness

Mother Love is the former host of the popular late 1990s television talk show Forgive or Forget. She is also a film actress, author, motivational speaker and comedienne. Currently, she hosts her own radio talk show on LATALKRADIO.com, Monday Friday from 2-4 PM (PST). This past February, she was also a speaker at the 6th Annual Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit.
After a major weight loss, Mother Love is on a mission to inform people of the importance of eating healthy, maintaining a healthy weight and managing diabetes appropriately.
She was the 2010 Spokesperson for Glucerna Nutritional Products. She has done over 200 radio interviews to promote Diabetes Awareness affecting more than 9 million people with The American Diabetes Associations I DECIDE to FIGHT Diabetes Campaign.
She has many awards to her credit including the 2010 USC Anneburg School of Journalism and Communications History Makers Award; 2009 C.H.A.P. Award for Community Service and the American Diabetes Associations Volunteer of the Year for 2008 award.
The wife, mother and grandmother of four decided to lose weight ten years ago. Her website says she lost over 100 pounds.
About ten years ago, I decided to change my thought pattern about food because I was watching my family suffer from the complications of diabetes, she said.
After witnessing family members pass away, Mother Love began to educate herself on Diabetes and healthy living.
Her father died at the age of 31, mother at 59, brother at 39, and sister at 51all were overweight.
You know you got a problem when I was the [smallest] and I weighed 257 pounds, she said.
After her sisters death, the talk show host experienced absolute sadness. Her doctor also gave a strong recommendation for her to lose weight.
