Indiana Seeks To Become Player In Cargo Flight
by Tom Coyne
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - Indiana is hoping to draw more cargo flights to state airports to boost economic development.
State officials, the Aviation Association of Indiana and others are looking at ways to build cargo traffic. They are especially interested in drawing business away from Chicago's busy O'Hare International Airport. It is the latest salvo in Indiana's effort to use tax cuts to draw business from Illinois.
State Sen. Tom Wyss (WEESE) of Fort Wayne proposed giving a 50 percent tax credit to companies investing in transportation or logistics.
