Shooting at Cell Phone Store Still Under Investigation

An unknown offender who fired shots into a cell phone store last Wednesday on the 700 Block of E. 79th Street still remains at large.
Area Two Detectives and police said the motive for the shooting remains unclear and it is still under investigation. Witnesses said an unknown offender shot a man and female before leaving the scene. Based on information provided in preliminary reports, the unknown offender wore dark clothing and possibly a mask when the shooting occurred, according to Officer JoAnn Taylor, a police spokesperson.
The gunshots struck two victims, both male and female in their 20s. Police said the shooting occurred around 11 a.m, Taylor stated. The female victim was struck in the eye while the male victim was struck in the leg, she mentioned.
Both victims were immediately rushed to Stroger Hospital where they were listed in serious but in stable condition, said Marcel Bright, a Stroger Hospital spokesperson, who noted that an ambulance arrived at the hospital with the two victims around noon. The female victim was released within 24 hours and the male victim was released on November 27, Bright stated.
