Smith & Smith SmileStudio Says DentalEducation is Key
October marks National DentalHygiene month, and DoctorsPatrick Smith and Ozzie Smith ofSmith & Smith Smile Studio inHyde Park encourages everyone tovisit their local dentist. Althoughwe promote dental hygiene 365days out of the year, it is imperativeto have a month where we collectivelyemphasize the importance ofeducating consumers about theimportance of oral health, says Dr.Patrick.
According to the American DentalAssociation (ADA), prevention iskey. Dental disease is almost entirelypreventable. Consumers need tobecome empowered about their oralhealth and how simple measureslike brushing and flossing theirteeth and eating a balanced diet canprotect against tooth decay andinfections. Neglecting your oralhealth can progress much furtherthan just a toothache, it can lead tounhealthy gums and eventual toothloss, states Dr. Ozzie. It is our missionto treat and educate patientsand the community of simple preventivesteps for a healthy smile, adds Dr. Ozzie.
Doctors Patrick and Ozzie Smithrecommend the following dentalhygiene tips for a healthy lifetimeof smiles:

*Replace your toothbrush everythree or four months, or sooner if itbecomes frayed.
