Senate President Emil Jones Announces Retirement

After three to five years of contemplating retirement, Senate President Emil Jones Jr. finally made it a reality on Monday.
Jones, who has served over three decades in the General Assembly, has announced his retirement. He previously served five of those years as Senate President. Jones was the second Black to serve in this position. The first was the late Cecil Partee who served as Senate President from 1971 to 1973 and 1975 to 1977.
